Roy Swiger, Ph.D.

CEO and board director

Dr. Swiger is a successful researcher and developer in clinical Dx, forensics, and environmental testing. His 28-year career has spanned applications and devices widely utilized in government, commercial Dx, and testing-services markets. Notably, Roy was the Point of Contact (POC) for tech transfer of whole mouse chromosome paints for use in fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) while at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL). While at MRIGlobal, he developed the PathAlert™ multiplex pathogen detection product-line licensed to Invitrogen/Thermo- Fisher and co-marketed with Agilent. He served as CSO for Escent Technologies where he led a team developing a handheld NIR-instrument used for particulate and powder analysis to identify illegal drugs, pharmaceuticals, and pathogens. More recently, as the Director of Advanced Technology Programs at IntegenX Inc., Dr. Swiger contributed to the development and commercialization of a portable, autonomous sample-in/answer-out forensic DNA-lab-in-a-box, acquired by Thermo-Fisher Life Technologies. Dr. Swiger has the hard-to-find balance of technical and business skills needed to lead Acenxion Biosystems.

Andrew Isakson

Director of Product Development

Andrew’s 36-year career is a list of successively more impressive engineering accomplishments two of which uniquely demonstrate his ability to actualize Acenxion’s project. Andrew led the consulting design and manufacturing team for Time Warner’s DVD duplication project requiring a $10MM dust free engineering lab and 18Mohm water with multiple plasma chambers and laser EMF encoding equipment. The tolerances for the project were measured in angstroms. Together with Dr. Swiger, Andrew established a 170025 and ASCLD accredited DNA forensic services lab, and created a custom LIMS with analytical applications and interconnectivity for all instrumentation including the RapidHIT mobile instrument. This project went from concept through prototypes to sales of regulatory compliant units. Law enforcement agencies in 10+ states use these lab services and LIMS including on-site DNA testing and databasing. His demonstrated engineering and manufacturing expertise is a vital asset to Acenxion Biosystems.
