Acenxio Biosystems Attends 2023 APHL Annual Conference

[Sacramento, CA] More than 1,500 people attended the APHL 2023 Annual Conference at the Sacramento Convention Center this year.  Among those attendees were the Acenxion Biosystems Inc team. There, a soft announcement was made by the company about the completion of the fAST System alpha-prototype.  The alpha fAST is the first fully integrated automated device that delivers rapid phenotypic AST results for gonorrhea in 6 hours or less. Acenxion hosted a booth in the exhibit hall and presented a scientific poster on their work. The booth was filled with enthusiastic attendees from the Public Health field. Visitors to the booth were able to talk with experts and witness firsthand the beta-concept fAST system as well. Acenxion gathered valuable feedback and laid the groundwork for collaborations during the conference. Laboratory Directors from all over the country encouraged the Acenxion team to sprint through the upcoming activities and place systems as soon as possible!

Dr. Sachidevi Puttaswamy, Director of Systems Integration, presented a poster, “Development of the First Automated Antibiotic Susceptibility Test System for Neisseria gonorrhoeae.” The poster highlights the current problem of Gonorrhea bacterial infections, the methods of testing for them, and how the Rapid-fAST System is able to provide typical results in less than 6 hours, providing actionable precision treatment swiftly.
